The singer, who enjoyed worldwide fame as the frontman of 1980s group Culture Club and has since forged a global reputation as a top DJ, will appear at Gibsons nightclub on December 18.
The appearance will see the launch of his new album The Koolwaters 365 and will include free CD giveaways. Promoter Paul Headings said the star's appearance in Oswestry was a coup for the town.
He said his dance night Redefined Disco had worked with other well-known acts in the past such as Leeroy Thornhill from The Prodigy, and K-Klass but Boy George was the highest profile booking to date.
Mr Headings said: "Boy George is not only the biggest act we have ever had at one of our events but to the best of our knowledge he is the biggest act to ever come into Oswestry.
"He is undoubtedly one of the most famous people on the planet, an icon, a household name and a part of music history."
Boy George will be supported by various acts, including DJ and producer Marc Vedo, the production artist behind Boy George's next UK single, due out before Christmas.
Tickets cost £10 in advance and are available from theticketsellers on 0844 870 0000 or at Wetherspoons pub in Oswestry.
