Bands are rockin' for charity

Four Midlands rock bands will be heading north next month to take part in the BoobAid 2009 charity concert for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Dante FoxA Shropshire-based group are among four Midlands rock bands who will be heading north next month to take part in the BoobAid 2009 charity concert for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Dante Fox, featuring Sue Willetts and Tim Manford from Apley, will be headlining the event at the Klondyke club in Royston, Barnsley, on Saturday, October 3.

Also on the bill are Midlands melodic rockers Tara's Secret, as well as Stoke sleaze rockers Hollywood Tease and Birmingham hard rock band Kinn, plus Barnsley-based MissDemeanor.

Tara's SecretThe event starts at 5pm, running through to midnight, and includes a raffle and rock DJ.

Admission is free from 5pm until 7pm, with a voluntary donation to be made at the door, after that the admission charge is £2.

The organisers says that almost 41,000 women and 300 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK alone.

KinnMore than 1,000 women die from the disease every month, and, approximately one in nine women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
