And now at the age of 19, Amy Henry from Shropshire, has landed a starring role in a new BBC children's show.

The teenager from Telford will be appearing in the second series of The Johnny and Inel show on CBBC.

The programme airs during half term on the children's channel.

It is the first role for the former Ercall Wood and New College pupil.

And Amy, who lives in Ketley, says she is thrilled that she was chosen for the part in the new series, which is a collection of comedy sketches which will run each morning from February 17.

The teenager bagged the role after she auditioned in Manchester last September and Amy, who has been modelling and acting since she was a toddler, will play Ruby.

Amy said: "My character Ruby is a 14-year-old who is young and innocent.

She is a ditzy girl who follows the crowd.

"Filming comedy was so much fun, we had a great time."

But she admits it was hard work and said: "We filmed in Media City in Salford and filming was very full on.

"We started at 6am and wouldn't finish until 8pm."

Amy already has a CV loaded with modelling jobs, adverts, commercials and magazine work but she says the TV show is her biggest role yet.

She said: "It is my first speaking role, I have done adverts, minor roles and extras but I am really excited for this show."

Amy, who also works at Free Radio in Birmingham as a promoter at their events, hopes the show will lead to more work this year.

She said: "My goal for this year is simply to do as much as I can and gain as much experience as possible.

"I have enjoyed modelling in the past but now I want to focus on acting roles.

"I think I will move to London as there are more opportunities in the capital."

She added: "My long term acting goal is films.

"My role model is Kate Winslet.

"I would like to act in period dramas.

"It is not about being famous.

"I want to spend my life doing a job a love."

Amy's parents Sharon and Philip Henry said: "She has always been dramatic so we took her to stage school when she was young and she won her first competition as a toddler at Butlins.

"We are so proud of everything she has already achieved."
