The Cornhouse, which stands at the junction of Wyle Cop and St Julian's Friars in Shrewsbury in a Grade II-listed building that was built in 1850, has closed. It prided itself on serving home cooked food with a contemporary twist.
The Grade II listed building is a former corn warehouse and corn merchant's house, built around 1850.
The rental of the business is now being handled by Halls. The rent for the building, which is fitted out with a commercial kitchen and can accommodate 70 covers, costs £35,000 per year.
It is not yet known why the restaurant has shut.
