[gallery] It was once a busy court that dealt with cases such as theft, burglary, robbery and drunk and disorderly behaviour. But now the former magistrates court in Market Drayton has been transformed into a call centre.

The Will Associates took on Market Drayton's vacant magistrates court in Cheshire Street after outgrowing its home in Poynton House in Shropshire Street last year.

Bosses said they have tried to keep some of the original features whilst renovating the building.

And that means some people working in old cells, public galleries and even a dock where the accused used to stand.

Bob Lewis, communication director for the firm, said staff were intrigued with the new surroundings and loved working in such a quirky office.

He said: "We have tried to keep some of the original detail in the main courtroom as it is quite an interest-getter.

"The call centre is in court one and legal and admin are now in court two.

"The move from Poynton House was quite expensive, moving staff, disruption, more connectivity, more office furniture and computers.

"Also in addition we bought the building, but we are very pleased with the new premises."

The magistrates building closed in April 2011 due to Government cutbacks and was put on the market later that year.

The court used to sit twice a week and was one of the main magistrates serving north Shropshire but was shut because of Government cutbacks.

Now the new owners of the building, are expanding and the firm is currently recruiting for 10 new roles.

Mr Lewis added: "Once again the Will Associates is expanding and we are looking for sales agents to make appointments for us in our offices based in Market Drayton and Stoke. We are recruiting experienced and new starters to our offices.

"Our head office is based in Market Drayton and we have consultants based across England and Wales to enable our clients to receive the necessary information and guidance in the convenience of their own home.

"With a large legal department consisting of solicitors and paralegals we have the ability to support our clients through those difficult decisions and provide the professional support that their family requires during their time of need."
