The 19-year-old hitman has joined on loan for the rest of the season from League One leaders Leicester and should go straight into the starting line-up as the Bucks look to cement their play-off place.
Sappleton has already been out on loan twice this season, scoring on his debut both times – for Bournemouth in League Two and for Blue Square Premier side Oxford.
His arrival is a big boost to boss Rob Smith, who has been struggling to cope with injuries to Danny Carey-Bertram and Andy Brown as well as Terry Fearns' suspension.
"We've been chasing a player ever since we knew about Terry Fears' situation," said Smith.
"It's been a really difficult time for us because there's been a lot going on, but when we heard about Ricky, he was the one we wanted.
"We were in talks with a Blue Square Premier striker who has been banging the goals in at that level this season, and to a League Two striker who was keen to come as well. But agents get involved and don't want their players to drop down so that has made it hard.
"But Leicester have been great and Nigel Pearson (the manager) and Craig Shakespeare (his assistant) were insistent that he would come here and do the business."
Sappleton linked up with Telford for the first time today at the FA Trophy semi-final second leg at York City.
He was not eligible to take part in that game because competition rules state that all players must be registered before the first leg.
Meanwhile, the Bucks' striking options will be further strengthened for Monday night's clash with last season's top scorer Matty Lewis returning after a month on loan at Hednesford.
