Imagine being informed upon by your neighbour, your possessions taken away, hostility and violence directed towards you and being imprisoned for years because of your personal beliefs.

Such was the experience of Quakers across Montgomeryshire in the 17th century. Many sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to start a new life, thousands of miles from home and family.

These events are the subject of a talk by renowned local historian, Carol Pearce, on Thursday, March 19 at 7pm in Llanwddyn Community Hall.

All are warmly welcome to this first talk of the Llanwddyn History Club.

The entry fee of £5, payable on the door, includes refreshments, and there will be a raffle.
