The county men take on Guildford at Telford Ice Rink tomorrow (5.30pm), before the second leg in Surrey on Sunday evening.

This weekend's games mark Tigers' first appearance in the competition for 17 years, with the prize being a spot at the finals tournament next month.

That would mark Telford's debut at the prestigious showdown in Coventry – and Thomason is keen to make the most of his club's historic opportunity.

He said: "It is has been a long season and it all comes down to these two games against Guildford. We have a great chance to make history and the fans can help.

"The supporters have been second to none over the last few months and we just need one more push. That is what the result could depend on – a miss-hit shot, a mistake, or an extra bit of effort.

"You can be sure that Guildford will bring a lot of their own people on Saturday, so we need an army of fans to pack out the rink."
