The British and Irish Lions man has not play international rugby in over two years - since making the move to American football early last year.

The 24-year-old has since returned to the rugby union code having signed a season long deal with Bristol - and was recently named in Steve Tandy's first Wales squad, despite having a toe injury.

He trained separately alongside a handful of other players during a recent open training session, and is hopeful of a return this weekend.

The wing, who joined Kansas City Chiefs and then Jacksonville Jaguars but did not play a competitive NFL game said: "I have just been running the past couple of days and trying to get it ready for next week, but it is looking positive.

"It feels amazing to be back in rugby.

"I went out there and tried it out but I am happy to be back. It is great to see all the boys again and there is a new coaching staff which is great.

"All the boys are loving it and we are ready to rip in.

"This is the first time I have been on this field for 18 months and it feels weird."
