Caersws looking for derby day cheer to kick start season

Caersws and Guilsfield are set to do battle on Saturday in the latest Cymru North mid Wales derby.

The two sides were dumped out of the JD Welsh Cup last weekend - and have had contrasting fortunes in their league campaigns so far.

The Guils are sat seventh in the table going into the game - having won five of their ten league games so far, amassing 17 points in that time.

Gavin Allen's side have been boosted by a handful of summer signings, including Sam Flory from Whitchurch Alport.

And they head to the Recreation Ground as favourites - to take on a Caersws side who have failed to hit their straps so far under the management of Craig Williams.

They have won just one of their opening ten league games, with a haul of five points seeing them sit fourth from bottom.

They have lost by narrow margins on a number of occasions but they are without a win in the last five outings and are in need of a victory.

Elsewhere, Penrhyncoch will be hoping for a boost as they will look to end their winless start when they welcome fellow struggles Flint to Mid Wales.
