New Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo believes his Champions League experience could help encourage new signings to join his Molineux revolution.

A number of new players are expected to join the club this summer as Fosun look to finance a push for Premier League promotion.

One of Nuno's key messages at his unveiling on Thursday was that he wanted to develop and improve players.

The boss is hoping to attract players with 'different characteristics' and has held talks with sporting director Kevin Thelwell.

And he believes his standing as a Champions League coach with both Valencia and Porto could persuade top players to move to the Championship.

"Maybe that will help because players will think I can help them grow," he said.

"I can help, me as a coach and our technical staff. We progress players and make them better every day.

"This is a challenge. Everybody should realise the new challenge.

"I managed two years before in the Champions League. I enjoyed it. Now it is a new idea and a new challenge.

"You think because of my experience to bring players because I coached in the Champions League."

Wolves signed 12 players in six weeks last summer and although it's expected to be a case of 'quality over quantity' this summer the new boss wants the transfer strategy to be clear.

"I hope so," he said. "This is what I mentioned yesterday to Kevin.

"We have to fight and try to recruit different players with different characteristics.

"I will try to avoid individual issues or names and why these players did not succeed (last season). You have to mix.

"When you try and build the squad you need versatility. You cannot choose the same players with the same characteristics.

"We look at the players and start organising. We are going to look at the players who could be useful for us – A, B or C. Whether they come from Africa, Europe or Asia it doesn’t matter."
