Dave Edwards' cost of Wales at Euro 2016

Wales' footballers may be enjoying the time of their life at Euro 2016 – but it's come at a sacrifice for Wolves midfielder David Edwards.

The 30-year-old is one of those in contention to replace the suspended Aaron Ramsey for Wednesday's semi-final against Portugal.

But he's missed two big moments as a result of his extended stay in France. Friday – the day of Wales' memorable victory over Belgium – happened to be son Jack's sixth birthday.

The following day he was supposed to be best man for Shrewsbury pal Sam Majski's marriage to Emily Ridgway.

Hours after tweeting about 'a night to savour' as Wales won their quarter-final 3-1, he followed up with a message to his friends.
