Kenny Jackett: Jordan Graham has staked a claim for Wolves

Some seven players have played on the left side of Wolves' midfield this season. Graham became the eighth at Portman Road on Saturday and enjoyed a promising debut, being heavily involved in Wolves' attacking ventures and delivering the corner that led to James Henry's first-half goal.

The winger has benefitted from a recent loan spell at League Two side Oxford United – and Jackett said he could see the difference in him since Graham's return from the Kassam Stadium.

"He's been an interesting player for me during the course of this season," Jackett said. "I think the loan has helped him, as it has other players that have come into the side.

"It's given him some confidence and we've seen a difference in him training since he's come back.

"I felt he deserved his chance and although he came off three quarters of the way through the game with slightly stiff calves I thought he contributed well. It's not an easy place to go and make your debut and he contributed to the side and we're looking to build on that now."

It has been a stop-start season for Graham, who many expected to challenge for Bakary Sako's vacant left-wing position at the start of the season.

He was snubbed for the pre-season tour of France and despite a goalscoring appearance in the final August friendly against Doncaster Rovershe didn't appear in a matchday squad before being sent to Oxford in late September.

Graham played six times for the U's and earned rave reviews, with manager Michael Appleton keen to extend the loan deal.
