Jubilant Kenny Jackett: Our season starts now
Wolves' season starts here – that was the message from boss Kenny Jackett, who hailed the contributions of goalscorers Benik Afobe and Kevin McDonald.
A second successive 3-0 victory propelled Jackett's team into the Championship play-off picture, just a week after they were only three points off the bottom of the league.
And while not getting carried away with his team's form, Jackett expressed his delight at the victory over Huddersfield – and bemoaned the two-week break before their next fixture owning to the international break.
He said: "We've got seven points out of nine, there's the opportunity to do that in this league, and we're disappointed the international break has now come.
"The big thing is now our season is ahead of us and we have to keep building."
McDonald, who has withdrawn from the Scotland squad with a back injury, scored one and Afobe the other two as Wolves picked up their third clean sheet of the season.
The pair have both dealt with off-the-field distractions and been far from at their best this season, but played a crucial role in Saturday's victory.
Jackett added: "Maybe Afobe was distracted, it would be the case for any young player, it's tough, but he's been a big player for us and he's only been here since January. We think he has a very good future at 22 and he's really got his confidence at Wolves.
"McDonald adding goals to a very good game. His concentration's been very good and he's a key player. With Coady getting suspended and Edwards getting injured it's opened up the partnership again for Price and McDonald.
"There's been changes that I've made that needed to settle. The goalkeeping position is one, if you're looking at Emiliano Martinez's runs of games, Danny Batth coming back, the triangle (with Kortney Hause) has been the bedrock to another clean sheet."
