Kenny Jackett: Plenty of work still to do
Kenny Jackett today warned Wolves to forget about hitting the beaches as he hinted some players could be playing for their futures.
Wolves' play-off destiny is now out of their hands as they need to win this weekend at Wigan and hope Ipswich and Brentford lose against Nottingham Forest at home and Reading away respectively to have a chance of landing a play-off spot.
And the head coach wants his side to do all they can in their last two games to keep their top-six dream alive.
"I've said to the players I don't want anyone going up to Wigan thinking it's all over," said Jackett.
"We have to make sure we do our jobs now and I don't want anyone getting on that coach on Friday that doesn't want to play and won't have enthusiasm to try to improve.
"I don't want anyone being half-hearted about his performance. That's not the way I want to play that game or the Millwall one."
Jackett also seemed to suggest some players could be playing for their futures.
"We have to think positively. I want a big performance at Wigan, whether that's for this season or not," he said.
Jackett believes they will face a fired-up Wigan side who can still stay up under new boss Gary Caldwell after beating Brighton 2-1.
"I watched their game against Brighton and they played well – they're playing with enthusiasm and freedom which perhaps they haven't had earlier in the season," he said.
Keeper Tomasz Kuszczak should be fit to replace Aaron McCarey on the bench after missing Saturday's game with a groin injury.
