Wolves are getting ready for the busiest phase of the season with a near clean bill of health among the squad who have reclaimed a top two position on the back of five successive victories.

Saturday's visit to Brentford kick-starts the rush of games that will see Wolves playing once every three days throughout March and Jackett believes fitness will be key.

"It seems an obvious thing to say but it is important that we have a reduction in soft muscle injuries and that means being as thorough as possible in preparation, making sure every single player has a programme and sticks to that programme," says Jackett.

"The facilities are here, they are very well supported. But it is still the player's responsibility to maintain their fitness. If people don't buy into that then we've got the wrong people for the club.

"It is up to you to make yourself the fittest you can possibly be, to remain self-motivated to try to improve as a footballer. Any ability a player may have, you need to have this fitness to do it justice.

"You can't cater for impact injuries so much but the best preparation and the physical fitness can impact on soft tissue injuries.

"You can reduce them over the course of the season. It's making sure the players know what's expected of them in this area.

"The players have had to buy into this; they have to make sure they are implementing what is being asked of them and their lifestyle."
