Matt Murray: I want to be boss like Wolves' Kenny Jackett

Matt Murray is hoping a bunch of young Shropshire footballers will be the key to his dream of becoming a manager.

The ever-popular ex-Wolves goalkeeper, whose career was cut short by injury, is relishing his work with the Telford College of Arts and Technology team as part of his pathway to a UEFA B licence coaching badge. "They are some of the lads I worked with to get my A badge and they are great for me – we get on well," says 32-year-old Murray.

"I would be confident walking into any club tomorrow and putting on a goalkeeping session but I recognise that if I am to become a manager or coach I need more experience with outfield players.

" I'm working two days a week with them and it's great. We won the Shropshire Schools Cup last season, we took a trip to Spain and they did really well there faced with a different style of football.

"It doesn't matter what level you are at, you have to deal with people and their problems, build a rapport.

"It's just the same wherever you may be."
