Kenny Jackett targets loan boost for Wolves
Kenny Jackett today kicked off the final month of the loan window ready to use Wolves' top-two position as a bargaining tool to strengthen his squad.
The Molineux head coach is looking for the re-integration of Jamie O'Hara alongside several swoops to give Wolves' all-time best start a further boost as they prepare for the hectic festive period.
Football League clubs have until Thursday, November 28 at 5pm to complete loan signings – including players down from the Premier League – before the window then closes until January 1.
Jackett has several irons in the fire and has again targeted players in the final year of their contracts, as he did with Scott Golbourne and James Henry.
"It's far easier to bring people in if you're top of the league rather than bottom, and if people think there's optimism for the future, hopefully they do want to join," said Jackett.
"We've had only a few injuries so far but common sense tells you it won't stay like that and we'll have a period when we're asking: 'What have we got to back it up?', 'How good is our squad?' and 'How good are we at recruiting players?'
"Filling those holes by turning a negative of an injury into a positive of a good signing is what we want to do."
Jackett wants to be at a stage where he can be ready to sign players, especially if injury worries to Matt Doherty, Richard Stearman and Kevin Foley deepen, while the attack could be another area deemed light.
