Dean Saunders targets three wins for Wolves

Wolves manager Dean Saunders today admitted his side must win three of their last four games to beat the drop.

Saunders' side go into tomorrow's home clash against second-placed Hull second from bottom and two points from safety after Saturday's crushing 3-1 defeat to Huddersfield.

They will also be without midfielder Jamie O'Hara for the next three games after he was sent off for shoving Keith Southern in the face.

After Steve Bruce's Hull, Wolves go to Charlton on Saturday, followed by the visit of Burnley the weekend after before finishing at Brighton on May 4.

Saunders said: "We've got to win three out of four, but we're capable of doing it and all is not lost.

"It's probably going to go down to the last match.

"We've got to keep going because we can definitely win three games."

The recalled Stephen Ward gave Wolves a fourth-minute lead but Sean Scannell equalised and substitute Jermaine Beckford scored twice in a minute before O'Hara was sent off following the restart at 3-1.

"The game hinged on two minutes from us having the chance to win it to them getting a goal and then another and Jamie getting sent off," said Saunders.

Saunders insisted the players will carry on battling to save the club from becoming only the second post-war Wolves team to drop into the third tier.

He said: "We either curl up in a ball and accept what's happening or we come out fighting. And I will make sure they keep fighting."

Wolves fell back into the bottom three after Blackburn beat Derby 2-0 and Peterborough edged out Watford 3-2. There is a full Championship programme tomorrow.

Barnsley host Derby, Blackburn entertain Huddersfield, Bristol City face Birmingham, Brighton visit Peterborough, Blackpool are at home to Sheffield Wednesday and Watford are at Millwall.

Bruce returns to Molineux tomorrow for the first time since he was snubbed for the manager's job in February 2012.

Ward, meanwhile, is hoping to be fit to face the Tigers despite suffering suspected cracked ribs. He sustained the injury before scoring the opener but played on.
