Hunt can be key in the battle for safety
Wolves boss Dean Saunders today declared Stephen Hunt has the temperament to play a big part in the relegation run-in.
The 31-year-old winger beat the boo-boys by coming off the bench to set up both goals in the much-needed 2-1 win over Bristol City nine days ago after being abused for claiming some fans are 'an embarrassment' for ironically cheering his substitution in the previous home game against Watford.
Wolves will be after the same inspiration when they return to action at home to Middlesbrough this Saturday.
And Saunders believes Hunt's influence in rising to the challenge when the chips are down is vital to Wolves' chances.
"In these big games, you've got to have players who aren't affected by outside influences," said the boss. "Stephen Hunt set Sylvan up, and he put in the cross for the second goal.
"I think he got a strange reception when he ran on, but it didn't affect him."
Saunders also put the entire squad on alert after claiming the substitutes must be ready to play their part.
"Nowadays, the players going onto the pitch have become more important," he said. "The substitutes need to be right because normally with half an hour to go, you're either pushing to get a goal back, or you're hanging on to what you've got."
