Wolves closing on loan deal for winger
Wolves were today closing in on Rennes winger Razak Boukari as their second signing in as many days.
The Togo international is understood to have agreed a season-long loan to follow £2m Austria Under-21 international defender Georg Margreitter, who signed a four-year contract yesterday.
Wolves have not yet confirmed the arrival of Boukari, who is predominantly a right-winger, but sources say the deal is done after he flew in for talks on Thursday with agent Willie McKay.
The club moved for Boukari after appearing to cool on FC Copenhagen's Christian Bolanos and Manchester United youngster Robbie Brady.
Asked how close he was to landing a winger, boss Stale Solbakken said: "I could tell you a lot of stories about that – I've been very close, and then before training yesterday, I was very far away from completing it. But now I'm getting closer again."
Ironically, Boukari almost signed for West Ham as they stalled on the deal to sign Matt Jarvis from Wolves.
But the 25-year-old became available again when the Hammers met Wolves' demands with a £10m-plus deal for Jarvis, whose transfer was completed yesterday along with Steven Fletcher's £14m move to Sunderland.
Boukari has made nine full appearances for Togo after being capped for France at Under-21 level. He has played all his career in France.
Meanwhile, Wolves today added Stephen Hunt to the growing list of transfer-listed players.
Hunt, 31, who is in the final year of his contract, has joined Adam Hammill, Christophe Berra, Nenad Milijas and Eggert Jonsson on the list of players made available by boss Stale Solbakken.
"Stephen's got 10 months left on his contract and we had an open discussion about that," said Solbakken.
"If he wants to stay and fight for his place, that's fine, but if we get an offer in that's acceptable, he will leave."
