Wolves pair Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis to leave for £24m

An offer of £14m from Sunderland was accepted for Fletcher and £10m-plus from West Ham for Jarvis. An historic day saw Wolves accept the bid for 25-year-old

Fletcher, which ended a summer-long saga that saw numerous rejected bids from the Black Cats club over the past seven weeks.

The deal was expected to be completed today after Fletcher travelled to the Stadium of Light for a medical. Wolves have held out for £14m and minimal add-ons for the striker.

The Fletcher transfer more than doubles Wolves' record sale, which was Robbie Keane's £6m switch to Coventry in 1999.

The figure represents a 100 per cent profit on the £7m they paid Burnley for the forward two years ago.

However, Wolves have to hand over 15 per cent of the profit to the Turf Moor club, which means the Clarets are set for a windfall of up to £1m.

The Jarvis deal makes him the club's second most expensive sale.

Jarvis, 26, made his way to London this afternoon to discuss personal terms for the move, which would be a record buy for West Ham.

The Hammers have offered £7m up front plus a further £3m in add-ons for the one-capped England international.

Wolves have to hand up to 15 per cent of the profit on the £600,000 they paid Gillingham in 2007.

But, with the money in the bank for their two star players, attention will quickly switch to how Wolves are going to replace the duo.

It is understood FC Copenhagen's Christian Bolanos is a potential replacement for Jarvis.

And boss Stale Solbakken is eager to splash the cash.

"If we want to compete, then we certainly have to spend some of that money because you can't replace Fletcher with one player and say someone will do the same job he would have done," said the boss.

"So you have to build in another way.

"I don't think we'll buy one player for that kind of money. But I think we can maybe spend some of it on more than one."

Wolves were today linked with a £2m move for Villa striker Andreas Weimann.
