Stephen Hunt's comments hinting at dressing room unrest have created plenty of headlines.
But tellingly, with Roger Johnson dropped for the 2-1 defeat at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday tea-time and Henry restored to the starting line-up as captain for the first time this season, the midfielder said the players on the pitch – Johnson was an unused substitute - were pulling together for each other.
"I think you can see from the performance on Saturday that everyone out there was giving everything and we were backing each other up," said Henry, who was one of seven in the starting line-up who led Wolves to promotion three years ago.
"There were tackles flying in from both sides.
"We know all the talk about what's been going on at the club, but everyone out there looked out for each other's backs.
"There is unity there. We worked our socks off for each other because we want to stay in this league, for the club, for the fans, and we've just come up short."
Wolverhampton-born Henry was delighted to be captain again after former boss Mick McCarthy took the armband off him and gave it to Johnson.
"It's the first time I've been captain in the Premier League this season and I love it," said Henry. "I'm proud to be captain."
