Wolves boss Terry Connor today urged fans to get behind captain Roger Johnson in Saturday's relegation crunch clash against Bolton.
Johnson appeared for the first time since being fined for turning up to train showing the effects of alcohol in the 2-1 defeat ?at Norwich last Saturday to an indifferent response from the travelling contigent. But he has yet to play at Molineux since his indiscretion.
Previously, his name had been booed by the home fans when he was announced as a substitute for the Blackburn and Manchester United home games.
Johnson's cause was not helped by his wife Melissa tweeting her criticism of Connor's decision not to start her husband.
But a similarly negative response to him starting a home game could create the wrong atmosphere.
And Connor insists the £4.5m defender had paid his dues and called on fans to support the skipper.
"I want the fans to support him – he's done his thing and he's paid his dues," said the boss.
"It's over and done with and done and dusted.
"He came back against Norwich, and, like the rest of the lads, he gave a good account of himself."
