Confident Terry Connor today urged Wolves to turn the five-club mini league on its head in the Premier League survival race this weekend.

Blackburn's 2-0 win at Molineux on Saturday put Rovers up to fifth bottom and three points clear of the drop zone and second bottom Wolves.

But with survival rivals Rovers, Bolton and QPR not playing this weekend, Connor believes Wolves can topple champions and leaders Manchester United on Sunday to alter the picture.

"The Blackburn game was pivotal, but it's not the end," said the boss.

"If we beat Man United on Sunday and Blackburn lose their next game, what's the points difference then?

"It would mean we've closed the gap."

Blackburn host Sunderland on Tuesday when Bolton are at Villa, while QPR entertain Liverpool on Wednesday.

Wolves are going to need all their renowned battling qualities which appeared to have deserted them in their last two games to climb out of trouble.

And Connor insists the only way Wolves will avoid relegation is by being positive, adding: "I'm a 'glass half-full' man. When I'm with the players you can't be down and solemn.

"If they follow their manager, that's how I want them to come in."
