The £6.5m striker had never played in a derby before the 1-1 draw in the Black Country dust-up at Albion in February.

But after hearing how one Wolves fan bizarrely burns his shoes every time he sets foot inside the Baggies ground, Doyle was left in no doubt as to the intensity of the rivalry as Mick McCarthy's side aim to end their 15-year winless streak at the Baggies.

Since promotion to the Premier League, Wolves have won just two out of 13 games after international breaks.
