Wolves' Sylvan Ebanks-Blake to ungergo scan

Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will today undergo a scan to determine the extent of the hamstring problem he suffered during the clash with Everton.

Ebanks-Blake had to be substituted at half-time in the 3-0 setback which left worried Wolves second from bottom of the Barclays Premier League.

Mick McCarthy's side are already without knee injury victim Kevin Doyle and can ill afford to lose another experienced forward.

Boss McCarthy is hoping the club's two week break from action will enable Ebanks-Blake to recover before Wolves entertain Fulham on Saturday, April 23.

The Wolves chief said: "We'll have to see what sort of a strain or tear it is as to how long he will be out.

"How badly, we'll know later today but hopefully he's got a chance for Fulham.

"Injuries have made life difficult for us and are certainly not helping.

"You lose your strikers and, when you are looking to get goals back like on Saturday, it's difficult without them on the pitch."

McCarthy's only other senior striker, record signing Steven Fletcher, also picked up a calf strain against Everton.

But the Shrewsbury-born forward is expected to be fit to face the Cottagers.

McCarthy said: "Fletch will be okay. He had a kick on the calf but I took him off more as a precaution because he is our one specialist striker, having lost Doyley and Sylvan.

"I need Fletcher fit," he added.
