Wolves newcomer Adam Hammill is determined to seize his chance to play Barclays Premier League football after sealing a £500,000 move from Barnsley.
The winger, who is 23 on Tuesday, could come into contention to face Liverpool - the club where he started his career as a trainee - in tomorrow's home clash.
Hammill was also wanted by Blackpool, with Everton expressing an interest, but he has opted to move to Molineux on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
He was able to activate a release clause in his contract should any club bid half-a-million pounds for his services.
Hammill explained: "I think my ambitions go hand in hand with the club.
"I'm really keen to play in the Premier League and the club are keen to establish themselves at this level.
"I'm really excited about the prospect and Wolves are a massive club. I'm looking forward to playing my part for the rest of the season."
Hammill was a member of Liverpool's 2006 FA Youth Cup-winning side.
He had loan spells at Dunfermline, Southampton, Blackpool and Barnsley before making a permanent move to Oakwell in the summer of 2009.
And this season he has scored eight goals.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said: "Adam is a player who has been on manager Mick McCarthy's radar for some time.
"He is at an age where he has the potential to perform on the Barclays Premier League stage.
"We were pleased to beat off several offers from other clubs to acquire his services.
"We are also confident he will perfectly fit into the dressing-room culture and team spirit which has become such a crucial part of Wolves under Mick."
