Shrewsbury Town have been dealt a blow ahead of their relegation six-pointer against Scunthorpe as stand-in skipper Ollie Norburn is a doubt with injury.

The midfielder came off at half-time in last weekend's victory at Southend with an Achilles injury.

He has not trained at Sundorne this week and is a doubt to feature against rivals Scunthorpe at Montgomery Waters Meadow on Saturday.

Boss Sam Ricketts is hoping Norburn may be able to step up his progress today and tomorrow and get some training under his belt.

Norburn was replaced by Josh Laurent at the break at Roots Hall and the replacement put in a busy, eye-catching performance.

Combative central midfielder Norburn has been a regular for Town under both John Askey, who brought him to the club last summer, and Ricketts. He has netted 10 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for Salop.
