Shrewsbury Town close in on Luke Waterfall signing
Shrewsbury Town are poised to seal a deal to sign Lincoln City skipper Luke Waterfall.
The central defender, 28, underwent a Town medical today with boss John Askey keen to bolster his defensive ranks ahead of Toto Nsiala’s impending exit.
Waterfall played 41 times for the League Two side last season, including in his side’s historic first appearance at Wembley, where they beat Shrewsbury in the Checkatrade Trophy final.
He signed a new two-year deal in the summer of 2017, meaning he has less than 12 months to run on his Sincil Bank contract. Waterfall, who has played in non-league, was at Wrexham before joining Lincoln, where he has made more than 100 appearances.
But Salop are understand to have triggered a release clause in his contract.
