Ebou Adams happy to get a taste of action for Shrewsbury Town
New-boy Ebou Adams enjoyed his first run out in the blue and amber as Shrewsbury signed off their pre-season stint in Portugal with a victory.
Midfielder Adams recovered from a minor knock he had picked up during an intense seven-day training camp that figured three sessions a day to play the first half against National League side Ebbsfleet United. Goals from youth graduate John McAtee and experienced front-runner Louis Dodds secured a 2-0 win for Town and Adams was delighted to get some game-time.
The 21-year-old has signed on a loan deal from Championship outfit Norwich until January is keen to make his mark at the Meadow.
“I found it quite good to be fair, I enjoyed it,” said Adams, who joined Norwich from non-league Dover.
“It was good to put on a Shrewsbury Town shirt and get some minutes under my belt.
“The body is feeling good. I had a good week in Portugal training hard.
“The boys have been very welcoming, the management, staff and the players, and that’s what helps you settle in quicker.”
Boss Paul Hurst also gave his six other summers signings – Arthur Gnahoua, Lenell John-Lewis, Craig MacGillivray, Zak Jules, Jon Nolan and Dan James a run out.
Town are in action tomorrow night when they head to National League North side Brackley Town (7pm).
That clash is followed by a home clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.
