The Irish midfielder had been made available by boss Paul Hurst despite making 48 appearances in his one and only season for Town.

But the club and player have agreed to part company so that Deegan can pursue opportunities elsewhere.

The 29-year-old, who signed from Southend last summer, was an almost ever-present under both former boss Micky Mellon and Hurst.

He has been linked with moves to former sides Coventry and Northampton this summer.

Due to Deegan being a first-team regular last season, news of his initial availability came as a surprise, and boss Hurst refused to rule out similar outgoings as the summer progresses.
