Morecambe manager Jim Bentley plays it cool on Shrewsbury Town talk

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley insisted he is not focused on anything other than his current club - amid speculation he is to become Shrewsbury Town's new manager.

Bentley spoke to media following the Shrimps' 3-0 defeat to Carlisle United on Saturday and said: "It's nice to be linked with other jobs, but all I'm interested in is doing my job for Morecambe... as far as I'm concerned there is no approach, I've not heard anything."

Salop parted company with Micky Mellon on Thursday, leaving Danny Coyne in interim charge for Saturday's 2-0 loss at Bradford City, which dropped Town to second-bottom in League One.

Wolves coach Rob Edwards has moved to the top of the betting, followed by Bentley and former Wolves boss Kenny Jackett, while odds for Steve Cotterill and Coyne have drifted significantly.
