Steve Cotterill out of the running for Shrewsbury Town manager vacancy
Steve Cotterill has confirmed that he's out of the running for the vacant Shrewsbury Town job, after he was initially placed as the bookies favourite.
The former Bristol City manager was immediately picked by bookies as the man considered most likely to take the reigns for Salop, but he's since confirmed that he's out of the running for the position.
In a poll previously posted on the Shropshire Star, 16% of Shrewsbury fans pointed toward Cotterill as their first choice. Coterill was third in line with Ian Holloway the fan favourite with over a third of the votes. Former Wolves boss Kenny Jackett was second highest with 29% of the vote.
Current caretaker manager Danny Coyne received just 2% of votes after he confirmed that he wouldn't be running for the vacancy on a permanent basis. Dave Jones, Steve Evans and Paul Trollope rounded off the candidates, all with less than 10% of the split.
Meanwhile, Coyne is set to take charge for Salop's upcoming game against high-flying Bradford City and is hoping to get the club back on track following a poor start to their campaign.
