Star Gary Deegan: I'm so proud of Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury Town midfielder Gary Deegan revealed his pride at the side's character as they came from behind to beat Oldham.
Salop secured their first away victory of the season as they edged a five-goal thriller at SportsDirect.com Park.
And Deegan, who played a starring role in central midfield alongside Abu Ogogo, reckons Town have answered their critics from earlier in the term.
"It shows massive character," said the Irishman. "We knew when we got one back we could settle in.
"It was a cheap goal to give away, but we're not going to complain. It gave us a platform to bounce from there on.
"It's a relief, it's just nice to get over the line, you were saying 'here we go again' when they got that second but the boys held their nerve and did the job to see it out.
"A lot of people would've questioned the character from being so convincing to chucking the game away (the week before against Gillingham). But I'm so proud of all the lads and staff. It's a team effort and I'm buzzing with three points."
Hosts Oldham played with 10 men for the final 20 minutes after Ousmane Fane's dismissal but Deegan admitted that Salop failed to take advantage.
"We kind of sunk back in and held on – understandably, considering last week, as I think it was in the back of our minds," he said. "But we got over the line."
