Shrewsbury Town fans are backing the team
Shrewsbury Town fans have backed the club's pre-season rebuild and moves to attract more support to the Greenhous Meadow.
The club have sold more than3,000 season tickets – 2,800 were snapped up last year– as fans react positively to eight summer signings.
Chief executive Brian Caldwell has announced plans to freeze matchday admission, introduce a ticket office in the West Stand and set up a satellite club shop in the family section.
Shrewsbury Town Supporters' Parliament member Mike Davis said: "Overall it's been a massively positive pre-season.
"The club have invested in some great additions, we've passed 3,000 season tickets and the club and fans have a very positive working relationship on projects.
"A couple more signings and we should be ready to give League One a good crack."
Regarding match-day prices being held, Davis added: "It's very pleasing.
"It's sometimes easy for clubs to justify an increase in matchday tickets when investment in the squad is high.
"It's very pleasing we haven't done that and are doing everything we can to get fans into the ground."
The West Stand is the club's biggest and Davis believes it makes sense to have its own ticket office.
He said: "It may seem a small thing but again it's all about the ease of access and it's something the Supporters' Parliament have spoken to Brian about.
"It just makes sense to have ticket facilities in our biggest stand. Fans want to get in quickly, so it's a hugely positive move."
Davis also believes the idea of a satellite club shop in the family section should generate more interest.
He added: "It's great to see the club making products more accessible to fans, some of whom – if they get the bus – never pass the club shop."
Meanwhile, recent target James Wilson has chosen Sheffield United over Shrewsbury, Rochdale and Leyton Orient.
The 27-year-old, who rejected a new deal at Oldham, has signed a two-year deal at Bramall Lane which bettered Town's offer.
