Shrewsbury Town want one more loan signing
Shrewsbury Town want to make their one final signing by the close of the loan window.
Crystal Palace forward Sullay Kaikai is still in boss Micky Mellon's sights but he admitted the situation has not changed.
Five loans per club are permitted and Town have Jack Grimmer, Larnell Cole, Kyle Vassell and James Wallace on their books.
Kaikai was in Palace's Premier League squad for their 1-1 draw against Swansea, but didn't make the 18-man party for the 2-1 defeat to Watford and was cup-tied for their FA Cup fifth round win at Tottenham.
Mellon said: "We'd like to try to bring someone in – we've still got one space,so we're still looking but we want to get the right type in.
Regarding Kaikai, the Town boss added: "It's the same as where it's always been. But he's a talented boy."
Meanwhile, Mellon insists Town must focus on themselves for tomorrow's trip to Colchester.
Kevin Keen's rock-bottom U's haven't won for 18 league games since October 20 and have lost 14 of them.
Town have the eighth best away record in League One and have only been beaten once in nine trips.
But Mellon denied it was an away banker, saying: "You just don't know. We know what we're capable of and we have to be right on it to pick the points up."
Relegation rivals Fleetwood and Chesterfield are at high-flying Coventry and Gillingham respectively, while Crewe host in-form Barnsley.
But, after two weeks without a league game, Mellon denied it's a greater chance to make up ground.
He said: "We've got a whole raft of games now and I don't think we can focus on how anyone else is doing."
Colchester have six former Premier League players in their squad and Mellon is well aware they can't afford to be complacent.
He said: "We'll need to get all the things we know we have to do right to get the right result. We have to continue to work hard."
Jermaine Grandison has a slight hip injury and James Wallace is still ruled out with a knee injury.
