Shawbury committee to help decide fate

Shawbury United will be a step closer to learning their fate with a committee meeting scheduled to follow Saturday’s home game against Hereford Lads Club.

Joint-boss Stu Lewis tendered his resignation after the Ludlow Stadium club called off last Saturday’s West Midlands Premier derby at Haughmond after raising a team of just six.

Boss Dave Richards, who last night led a patched-up XI against county rivals AFC Bridgnorth, said: “I’ve asked Stu to give me a couple of weeks to get some games out the way then have a big, proper think on the decision.

“We’re just muddling through the next couple of games.

“We got 11 last night as we’re slightly easier with midweek games as lads don’t play for other sides on a midweek.

“We haven’t been able to meet as a club committee yet but we can get Saturday’s home game against Hereford Lads Club out of the way and try to get everyone together for a meeting there.

“We should know more after that.”
