After a calamity opener that saw a defensive error hand Matt Harrold a tap in, the Bucks rallied and Ellis Deeney levelled.

By that time Harrold had already saw red and Telford could see a path back into the game.

But after chances came and went, Josh Coulson headed home 15 minutes from time and the tie was over.

The Bucks have taken on all comers from the National League on the route to the final, but the Wembley dream eventuallt evaded them.

Cowan expressed his pride in his players after the game, and said: "It wasn't to be our day today.

"I wouldn't say it was one step too far though.

"We were magnificent and gave a top account of ourselves today

"We have done the club and the town really, really proud and and I am privileged to be a part of it.

"We had numerous chances that we didn't put to bed, but we have to congratulate Leyton Orient.

"They are a phenomenal club and even when they are not in the game they get the job done.

"They are a good side and I imagine they will win the league and cup."

The opening goal was a killer blow as a defensive mix up between Andy Wycherley and Ross White handed Orient the lead.

But Deeney rallied the Bucks, and led from the front to get his side bet in front.

Cowan added: "It was unfortunate, because we talked about keeping it tight early and not conceding.

"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb and then Ellis Deeney grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck in more ways than one.

"We had numerous chances and I would like to see our stats on the day."

It is a quick turn around now for the Bucks, as they head to Bradford Park Avenue as the play off race continues.

Cowan insisted by tomorrow the focus will be back on the league and making sure they finish the season in successful fashion.

He added: "People said to me we can be proud no matter what the result but we wanted to get to Wembley.

"But we do have to remember where we have come from, we have been magnificent in the league and cup.

"We have the rest of the day to think about this then, before we prepared for Bradford.

"Because they certainly won't be feeling sorry for us."
