The Bucks put in plenty of effort at Aggborough but lacked quality in the final third, unlike the hosts.

Brown opened the scoring just before half-time from close range and Wright, in similar fashion, added a much-deserved second towards the end of the encounter.

Rob Edwards' side are 16th in the National League North table, with 27 points from 22 games.

Telford made one change from the 0-0 draw with Harriers on Boxing Day as Max Leonard replaced Anthony Dwyer, and they were without a substitute goalkeeper for the first time this campaign.

Sheridan Martinez was the second choice shot-stopper but left last week to join Solihull Moors.

The Aggborough pitch appeared to be in a much better state than the surface at the New Bucks Head was for the first of this festive double header.

And it was the hosts who had the lion's share of possession early on, with former PSG youngster Elton Ngwatala always making himself an option.

They went close to taking the lead on two occasions in the opening 10 minutes.

James Pearson - son of former Leicester boss Nigel - headed over after a James McQuilkin free-kick, before Jas Singh got down low to prevent Bucks skipper Shane Sutton, inadvertently, firing the ball into his own net.

Singh had to be sharp once more to keep out Ngwatala's powerful strike, with Ryan Wilson clearing another Harriers attempt off the line.

The home side were dominating and it seemed only a matter of time until they would go ahead.

Telford found a weakness in the Harriers defence, though, which they looked to exploit at every turn. Sam Austin - a winger by trade - was playing at left-back and struggling to get hold of Marcus Dinanga.

But the Bucks had to change their approach just before the half-hour mark as Manny Sonupe was forced off with a knock for the hosts. Natural left-back Joel Taylor was introduced and Austin moved to the right wing.

With that shift, Harriers started to see more of the ball again and an incisive move saw them go in front, 40 minutes in, through Brown.

Taylor burst forward before feeding Ngwatala, whose pinpoint cross was tapped in by the No.9. Great play.

The hosts felt they should have had a penalty in first half added-on time too as Connor Johnson barged over Pearson. Referee Scott Simpson thought the right-back went down too easily, though.

Harriers made another change for the start of the second period, with Andre Wright replacing the injured Brown.

Telford stuck to their guns and Dinanga - their best performer in the first half - almost pulled them level with an ambitious effort. The Burton Albion loanee let fly from 30 yards and the ball grazed the side netting on its way out for a goal kick.

The Bucks created no major opportunities, though, before the hour mark.

They needed to shake things up and their first substitution came in the 65th minute, Elliot Newby entering the fray in place of the ineffective Leonard. The former Huddersfield Town man is yet to have a breakout display for the club.

Despite the switch, the hosts were still dominating. They had a third penalty shout waved away, Liam Truslove appearing to be tripped, before Sutton was cautioned for a late tackle on Taylor.

It was one-way traffic and it came as no surprise when Harriers doubled their advantage in the 73rd minute.

Singh - in a true moment to forget - fumbled Truslove's long-range shot, allowing Wright to poke home from a few yards out.

That second goal seemingly woke Telford from their slumber. They nearly pulled one back, twice, as former Aggborough man Jordan Murphy - on for Dinanga - forced Brandon Hall into action and Newby's thumper rattled the crossbar.

The Bucks could not find a goal for the excellent 304 travelling fans. They made a final switch, bringing on Anthony Dwyer for Henry Cowans, before the final whistle.

Telford are now four games without a win across all competitions. Up next are Curzon Ashton, at home, on Saturday.
