AFC Telford bosses keen to bring back Graham Hutchison

AFC Telford United are looking into the possibility of bringing Graham Hutchison back to the New Bucks Head.

The 22-year-old defender issued a 'come and get me' plea to management duo Rob Smith and Larry Chambers on Tuesday after regaining full fitness. And his request has been met by a positive response.

"We would like him back," said assistant boss Chambers. "It's an option we're looking at but we're waiting on Halifax at the moment."

Hutchison played six games for Telford in a two-month loan spell earlier this season from September 12 to October 24 before sustaining a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw against Boston United.

The Bucks are in need of defensive reinforcements with Paul McCone out and right-back Dwayne Samuels a doubt for Saturday's trip to Curzon Ashton after coming off in last Friday's 2-1 win at FC United of Manchester in the FA Trophy.

McCone is out for up to another four weeks with medial ligament damage while Samuels has an ankle injury and Telford need to assess their options with Jack Deaman's loan up in January.

Meanwhile, Telford have allowed three of their players to extend loans elsewhere – Josh Brizell, Mark Lees and Jordan Goddard at Glossop North End, Ashton United and Sutton Coldfield respectively.

But midfielder Mike Grogan is back from his month at Warrington Town.

"He's not as fit as he would like because he hasn't as many minutes as he would have wanted," said Chambers.

Telford are still awaiting an answer from a Conference club on loaning a ball-winning midfielder for the weekend.

But, as they wait on a response, Chambers is delighted with the impact of Burton Albion loan duo, centre-back Liam Slade and winger Sam Austin.

"They've shown why they're highly rated," added Chambers.
