Dave Hibbert: Bucks have mentality to survive
Dave Hibbert has praised AFC Telford United's 'siege mentality' as they look to continue their good form and move off the bottom of National League North.
The in-form striker, who has two goals in his last two games, is continuing to work on his sharpness in a bid to turn the Bucks' fortunes around as they prepare to host Alfreton.
Hibbert was signed from Tamworth in the summer by Steve Kittrick after stepping into non-league following his retirement from the pro game in 2013.
And he is optimistic of his side getting out of trouble.
The forward said: "For us it's about being consistent and picking those results up.
"The fans start believing again and they can see how much it means to the players out there. A few decent performances and who knows where you can go.
"But first things first for us is getting ourselves off the bottom of the table.
"We're unbeaten in two games and things have turned around.
"We have a siege mentality. We're down here but we know we won't be down here for long."
The former Shrewsbury Town striker returned from injury after Rob Smith and Larry Chambers replaced Kittrick and has proven what a vital asset he is to the management team.
"I've scored two in my last two but I'd like to think I offer a lot more than just goals," he said.
"I didn't play football for three years so it is tough not to hit the high standards that I expect of myself.
"But I am loving my football at the moment. I've been told in the past I will never play again so I think you can see how much it means when I score.
"The gaffer and Larry have come in and make it clear what they want."
Oxford have recalled Josh Ashby from his loan spell at Bucks after the League Two club suffered a spate of injuries and lost loanee Jordan Graham back to Wolves.
