The Bucks go to Evo Stik Southern Premier side Kettering Town tomorrow in a second qualifying round tie aiming to make their one division advantage count.

There is £4,500 prize money on offer for the winners, but Smith wants Telford to embark on a Cup run to give them confidence to improve their National North form.

"It's massive for us because if we do well, it will give us a big boost so we're desperate to do well in it," said the Bucks chief.

"The prize money is important to every club and Telford is no different, but it's all about winning a game of football."

Despite playing in a higher league, Smith insists Telford are underdogs in a nod to their position at the foot of the table and their away record, with four defeats from four.

"If you look at the odds, we're not the favourites, they are and that's right because they've won five games out of their last six and we haven't even got a draw away from home," he said.
