Telford can consider themselves unfortunate at not getting more from the game, after a much-improved showing.

Their hard work throughout looked set to go unrewarded later into the second-half, as they fell behind 1-0 to their 10-men opponents.

But a foul from goalscorer Liam King in the North Ferriby box minutes later saw a quick route for Telford to get back into the game and Sean Clancy stepped up to equalise.

Izak Reid looked like winning the match in the dying moments as he snatched the ball from a North Ferriby defender to go darting through on goal, but he could only roll his shot just shy of the post.

Both teams came fast out the blocks in the first ten minutes of the game as they matched each other well on the ball, but the Bucks soon began to find their rhythm with some good link up play.

Debutant Connor McCarthy came close to scoring on several occasions and looked threatening in Telford's attack.

North Ferriby pressed Telford high up the pitch for spells, but the Bucks back line dealt with the dangers comfortably.

The pace was taken up a notch in the second-half, as North Ferriby's attacker Tom Denton was shown red for an altercation with Curtis Tilt.

But Telford then found themselves surprisingly one goal down, after Liam King fired a fierce shot in Telford's box onto the underside of the crossbar and in.

The home side were hard done to in trailing, but they were soon thrown a life line back into the game when the referee pointed to the spot. King was shown a yellow for the foul.

Clancy then stepped up coolly to fire the ball home to the far left of the goal.

In the dying moments, Izak Reid looked liked he could have grabbed a late win after snatching the ball from a North Ferriby defender and darting through to goal.

He poked the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper, but his effort rolled agonisingly close past the right post.
