Rob Smith: I'll clear out at AFC Telford
Manager Rob Smith knows AFC Telford United's players are not capable of staying saving the club from relegation and will try to bring in new recruits.
Smith reckons getting the side out of relegation trouble is the biggest challenge of his career and told of how his players are completely distraught at Saturday's performance.
The club is rock bottom of the league and went goal less for the sixth game out of eight this season, following the 4-0 hammering at the hands of Harrogate.
Smith pulled no punches when stating it would be better for all concerned if some of his players moved on sooner rather than later.
But the Bucks chief added that the club come out the other end stronger in the long run.
He said: "We need to fight our way out of this but, being brutally honest, I don't think that team is capable of doing it.
"Some of them need a fresh start to get away from here and this club needs them to go, because there is not a good vibe in there. They are just very, very down.
"We need some new players for next week but it's difficult, at the moment, because a lot don't want to join a club that's struggling down at the bottom of the league.
"We have got to get something out of the squad we have and that's our job for this week."
Smith hoped the fans and the club were supportive of what he was trying to achieve.
He said: "I think they probably knew how difficult this job was going to be more than me - but I certainly know now after the last two games.
"We didn't work the goalkeeper against Harrogate. I think we're the sort of team who, if we go one down, there's a difficult body language and persona.
"I probably don't feel as down as the people in the dressing room and others around here, because I haven't seen the previous six games.
"I am still quite buoyant and I don't believe there's an issue of getting us out of it, but we just need to bring in the right players. I think this is my biggest ever challenge, but it's not one I'm frightened of.
"I think the players are a little bit frightened but we just need the fans to be patient with us because we will come out of this for the better."
