AFC Telford go to Kettering in the FA Cup
AFC Telford United will travel to established non-league side Kettering Town in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup later this month.
Telford were paired with the Poppies in today's draw, the club's first involvement in the competition after a wretched start in the league.
Three leagues separated the two sides last season but now just 17 places are between them, with Telford rooted to the bottom of the National League North.
Kettering are 16th in the Southern Premier League after winning Division One Central last season, when Telford were dropping out of the Conference Premier.
They came to Shropshire on Saturday, hammering Market Drayton Town 5-0 away from home to put their name in the hat for the next phase.
The tie, which will take place on Saturday September 26, will take place at Latimer Park, which the hosts ground-share with Burton Park Wanderers, after moving out of Rockingham Road in 2011.
