Bucks are handed a relegation warning
No-nonsense Rob Smith insists AFC Telford United are in a relegation battle and could be in the Evo-Stik League before they know it.
The Bucks boss read the riot act to the squad at Tuesday night's training session as he started a three-week 'mini pre-season' to get the players fit.
Telford are bottom of National League North with just four points from eight games.
And after three matches in charge, Smith is convinced major changes are needed if they are to avoid a second successive relegation.
"We could be in the Evo-Stik before we know it and we've got to wake up and smell the coffee," said Smith.
"At the moment, we're in that much of a mess, I think I'd take fourth from bottom now. Anything above that is a bonus.
"This team is nowhere near good enough – I've read things saying they thought they were but I think the players know it themselves.
"It's not two games into the season, it's eight games. We can't score, we don't look like scoring and the whole thing needs to be shaken up from top to bottom.
"There's only one way to address that and that's to fight our way out of it.
"But at the moment I think we're relegation material."
