AFC Telford sweating on David Hibbert
Boss Steve Kittrick is sweating on the fitness of AFC Telford United striker David Hibbert for Saturday's home game against Stockport in the National League North.
The summer signing limped off just six minutes into Tuesday's goalless draw against Curzon Ashton with a groin injury.
And Kittrick admits the 29-year-old is touch and go for the weekend clash with the Hatters.
He said: "He has tweaked his groin so we have got to be careful. It's precautionary.
"There was no point him playing on and then being out for five or six weeks. We have just got to see how he is for Saturday."
Kittrick will consider dipping into the transfer market to cover for Hibbert, following talks with managing director Lee Carter.
But youngster Kaiman Anderson, on loan from Shrewsbury Town, is on stand-by to fill in after replacing Hibbert from the substitutes' bench on Tuesday.
Kittrick said: "I will speak to Lee and see where we go with it. But if we can't get anyone in or get the right person we will have to go with what we've got.
"That is just the nature of the beast. It is one of those things. Kaiman is a game lad who works hard and he listens. Obviously, at Shrewsbury they are doing something right.
"The big thing when a young lad comes in from a professional club - some listen and some don't. He listens to everything which is asked of him.
"The kid just wants to play and has expressed a desire to play here until Christmas. If he can get himself sorted and get a few goals, that is all about his development going forward."
And Kittrick is gearing up for another tough game on Saturday, after being relatively pleased with Tuesday's point.
He said: "You want to win at home and we want to make this place a bit of a fortress. It is what it is. You are not going to get it your own way.
"Some teams will come here and want to play, others will have never played in a stadium like this. Saturday will be different again."
