James Montgomery training with Wolves
AFC Telford United keeper James Montgomery is training with Wolves at a time when there is a goalkeeping shortage at Molineux.
The Bucks No.1 is training at Wolves' Compton Park headquarters once a week to improve his all-round skills, in addition to joining Telford's three-times a week pre-season training schedule.
Telford boss Steve Kittrick rates the 21-year-old highly and said: "Monty is training with the Wolves goalkeepers one day a week, which is fantastic for Telford and fantastic for the lad.
"Being in that full-time environment will bring him on because he's able to practise his handling skills, positioning and quick feet there.
"We're mainly working on fitness so he's getting the best of both worlds."
There are healthy links between the clubs as Wolves use the New Bucks Head for their under-21 games and are paying for the upkeep of the pitch this season.
Montgomery's opportunity is understood to have come about because Bucks assistant manager Chris Holland is a former Newcastle team-mate of Wolves Under-21s boss Scott Sellars.
Montgomery, who is the grandson of former Sunderland and Birmingham keeper Jim Montgomery, was with Middlesbrough in his youth and on trial at Millwall last season before replacing Freddy Hall at the New Bucks Head.
Kittrick added: "Monty is bigger than Steve Drench, who I had at Guiseley and has been the best keeper in Conference North for the last three seasons, and can be as good."
Wolves, currently on tour in France, are down to untried youngsters Jon Flatt and Harry Burgoyne from Ludlow in their goalkeeping department.
Carl Ikeme has a knee injury, Tomasz Kuszczak has joined Birmingham and former AFC Telford loanee Aaron McCarey is awaiting an FA verdict after failing a drugs test.
Meanwhile, Telford hope to complete the signings of three trialists this week.
