Adam Farrell ready to leave AFC Telford

Utility man Adam Farrell has told boss Steve Kittrick that he wants to quit AFC Telford United – as the Bucks' chase for a winger took on a fresh twist.

Farrell, the 25-year-old midfielder or forward, wants to move closer to his Preston home after his work commitments changed.

But Telford will be seeking a fee for the former AFC Fylde, Chorley, Lancaster City and Kendal player's services as he has a year left on his contract.

"'Faz' says his work commitments have changed so he wants to go and play somewhere else," said Kittrick.

"So if the fee is right, then he can go and speak to other clubs.

"Faz comes from Preston and he has to do a lot of travelling to get here, so logistically, it's not where he needs to be.

"But it's not as if Telford has moved its ground 200 miles away – the club is still in the same place on the map as it was when he signed his contract!"

Farrell scored five goals in 44 Conference appearances last season when he played mostly in midfield.

Meanwhile, Kittrick is happy to continue to play a waiting game for his winger target.

Kittrick has agreed terms with the un-named wideman, but the locally-based player, who has been playing out of the area, is trying to reach a settlement with a full-time Conference club on the remaining year of his contract.

"He wants to come to Telford and his club have accepted he wants to leave, but until he gets his settlement then we can't do anything," said the boss.
